Keptly Legal

Privacy Policy

Effective June 12, 2026

The short version: by default, everything you put into Keptly stays on your own device — we do not collect it, see it, or sell it. If you opt into a Premium account, your data is additionally backed up to your private, access-controlled cloud space so it can sync across your devices. Nothing is ever sold or shared.

What Keptly stores, and where

Keptly is an offline-first application. All information you enter is saved in your device's local browser storage. It never leaves your device unless you personally download a backup file, which is saved wherever you choose and remains under your control.

What we collect

Nothing. Keptly has no user accounts, no analytics trackers, no advertising identifiers, and no third-party data sharing. We do not collect names, email addresses, location data, contacts, health information, financial information, or usage data.

Third-party services

The app loads its typefaces from Google Fonts, and the website is served by Vercel. Like any web request, these services may receive standard technical information such as your IP address in order to deliver the files. Neither receives any content you enter into Keptly. After first load, fonts and the app itself are cached on your device and work offline.

Emergency Mode and medical information

Any medical notes, emergency contacts, or insurance details you add exist solely on your device so they're available to you instantly, even offline. They are never uploaded or shared.

Scanned documents & encryption

When you scan a document, the photo is encrypted on your device using AES-256 with a key derived from a passphrase only you know. We never receive the passphrase or the unencrypted image, and the passphrase cannot be recovered if lost. Text recognition (OCR) runs entirely in your browser — the document is never sent anywhere to be read.

Optional account and cloud sync (Premium)

Keptly works fully offline with no account. If you choose to create an account and subscribe to Premium, two things change: we store your email address (for sign-in codes) and, if sync is enabled, an encrypted-in-transit copy of your Keptly data is stored in our database (hosted by Supabase) so it can be backed up and synced across your devices. That data is protected by row-level security — only your authenticated account can read it — and it is never sold, shared, or used for advertising. Deleting your account deletes this data.

Payments

Premium subscriptions are processed by Stripe. Your card details go directly to Stripe and never touch our servers; we receive only your subscription status. Stripe's handling of your payment information is governed by its own privacy policy.

Children

Keptly is a general-audience household tool and does not knowingly collect information from anyone — children included — because it does not collect information at all.

Deleting your data

You are in full control. Use Settings → Erase everything on this device inside the app, or clear your browser's site data. Either action permanently removes all Keptly data from your device. Deleting the app removes it as well.

Future changes

If Keptly later adds optional features such as cloud sync or family sharing, those features will be opt-in, this policy will be updated before they launch, and the offline-only mode described here will remain available.
